First LED Lighting Installed in Store Displays

CASCO Europe is breaking new ground by installing LED lighting systems in pet and aquatic store displays. LED lighting technology totally transforms a store with an intense light to create a stunning modern look. This development is significant as LED technology is far superior in many ways to traditional store lighting and CASCO is the first company to use it in the pet and aquatic industry.  

The future of lighting rests in LED lights, they use almost 90% less electricity, last up to and beyond ten years and produce an even spectrum of light that is unparalleled. CASCO Europe is now fitting LED lighting in display aquariums, as well as bird and animal units in the UK and across Europe.

LED lighting is strong and eye catching, whilst also being ‘low energy’, safer and much more environmentally friendly than florescent lights. Marine White, Day Light and Marine Blue LED colours are currently available from CASCO. Using LED technology, a mix of colours can be used in the same unit to create a variety of colour combinations. 

As LED lights use 12 watts of energy compared to 30-54 watts for fluorescent lighting, they dramatically reduce a store's carbon footprint. LED lights last approximately 8-10 years. Electricity is passed through a chemical compound to generate light, there is no bulb making LED a long-term money saving option. Another advantage is that LED lights do not contain hazardous mercury making them safer and easier to dispose of too.

Although the LED light unit itself is very compact, its high output produces an intense light. The life of an LED light is much longer than a florescent bulb, which is normally changed every 12-months. The LED light output is virtually consistent over its 8-10 year life. A fluorescent light, on the other hand, seriously looses output after 6-8 months and after one year will only be producing approximately half of its original output. 

Diverse and virulent colours are available in LED. These intense direct lights are produced without heat. The LED is a solid-state device that does not require the heat of a filament to create light. The lack of heat is a distinct advantage for livestock and aquariums especially in avoiding overheating in summer. As an added bonus, the LED light produces an attractive rippling effect through water, which adds to the wow factor CASCO are known for creating in their stores.
